S V Lotus Temple announces opening of registration for Lotus Academy Balavidya for 2023-2024 school year. We look forward to another exciting annual journey together as a community with the collective goal of "Balavidya" i.e. - providing children strong foundations in our vast and rich Vedic Heritage.

To ensure that we intentionally and consciously guide our children using very high standards and high quality instruction, a comprehensive curriculum has been put together. It is an in-depth resource, offering insight into the vision of the Vedas and the vast literature and religious culture of India.

Children at Lotus Academy Balavidya will be exposed to high quality instruction in Shloka Chanting, Bhajans and Vedic Heritage. Highly experiences teachers with deep understanding of our Vedic culture use age-appropriate content from our Itihasa and Purana such Ramayana, Mahabharata, Bhagavata Purana and weave it with Values, Religion and Culture. The children are engaged very appropriately using interactive content such as drama, enacting, story telling and narration.

2023-2024 year also features re-organization of our Chanting/Shloka classes. Children will be in a chanting class according to their age and ability with shlokas taught ranging from simple two lines shlokas, Shanti Paathah to Hayagriva Stotram and Sundara Kanda Dhyanashloka. We will continue to have the very popular Shloka Competition during Spring 2024 to encourage memorization.

Time and weather permitting, we will have a Lotus Academy picnic for our community. We will provide opportunities for our children to be part of S V Lotus Temple led community service and poojas to deeply understand the idea of Giving and prayer for Universal Peace and Welfare. The sacred space of the Lotus Temple resonates with positive energy, providing the ideal environment for spiritual growth and self-discovery. Join our warm community every Saturday and experience the profound union of body, mind, and soul.

Bhagavad Gita Chanting Class along with understanding the explanation of the verses will be conducted for parents while children are in their classes.

Dress Code:
To be in accordance with the spiritual environment of the holy temple, there are certain guidelines for the students to be followed.
All female students are encouraged to wear bindi/kunkum before coming to the class.
